Lake Erie Wine Country
We’re located just to the east of the Lake Erie Wine Trail which features over 20 wineries along the shores of Lake Erie. Those located closest to Hidden Valley include the following:
21 Brix Winery
Open daily 10am-6pm, 21 Brix Winery is located in Portland NY and features a tasting room and gift shop. The winery also offers local craft beer and cider on tap and offers small plate food options.
Noble Winery
Located in Westfield NY, Noble Winery features not only great wines, but a fantastic view of Lake Erie just beyond the vineyards. The winery is open daily 10am-6pm in May through October. Featuring a tasting room and cheese and meat selections to pair with your wine.
Johnson Estate Winery
Known for being the oldest estate or farm winery in New York State, Johnson Estate Winery is open daily 10am-6pm in March through December. The winery also located in Westfield NY features a tasting room and wine shop. They also host events throughout the year.
Mazza Chautauqua Cellars
A family owned and operated business for over 45 years, Mazza Vineyards offers tours and tastings 7 days a week. Their Chautauqua Cellars location is in Westfield NY on 80 acres of farm land and also features a newly formed distillery and brewery, Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing. In July and August, hours are Monday-Saturday, 9am-8pm; Sunday 11am-4:30pm; and in September through June, hours are Monday-Saturday, 9am-5:30pm; Sunday 12pm-4:30pm.
Also, don’t miss the Grape Discovery Center in Westfield NY featuring exhibits and displays covering the more than 150 years of the history of grape growing in the Lake Erie region. Open Friday through Saturday 11am-5pm; Sunday noon-4pm, the Discovery Center is a great way to kick off a wine tour or for a visit on its own. The center also features a gift shop with all things grape as well as arts and crafts made by local artisans.
Local Breweries
Western New York has a long history in breweries. Large and small, the area offers a selection of more well-known beers and smaller craft brews.
Southern Tier Brewing – The Empty Pint
The Empty Pint is the Southern Tier Brewing Co. location in Lakewood NY. They offer a wide selection of Southern Tier Brewing draft beers and ciders as well as a selection of wine. The location also features a full menu for dining.
Bent Run Brewing Company
A new brewery located in Warren PA, Bent Run Brewing Company offers a tap room with a selection of Bent Run Brewing Co. beers. They also offer a full menu for in person dining or take out.
Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua
On the shores of Chautauqua Lake in Bemus Point, Ellicottville Brewing Co. has a taproom and dining area. Offering a wide selection of Ellicottville beer and cider, the brewery is a great place to taste or enjoy a full meal.
